In cooperation with Inter Vlaanderen, J-Club De Panne has developed 10 fully accessible bedrooms specifically designed for youth groups that include participants with reduced mobility or wheelchair users.

These adapted rooms feature sliding doors, accessible washbasins, adapted toilets, support rails and walk-in showers with seating, creating a comfortable and practical environment for young people with additional accessibility needs.

To maximise manoeuvring space, one of the bunk beds can be folded away when required, providing extra room for wheelchair users and personal care assistance.

All adapted rooms are located within our group accommodation and allow participants to stay together with their friends, classmates or fellow group members, ensuring a fully inclusive experience.

In addition to the accessible bedrooms, our standard rooms are spacious and well suited for youth groups. Each room accommodates up to four participants and includes:

• Two bunk bed
• Four individual wardrobe
• A private bathroom with shower and toile
• Ample space for luggage and personal belongings

To make life easier for group leaders, teachers and carers, all bedrooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily by our housekeeping team. Final cleaning at the end of the stay is also included, allowing organisers to focus entirely on their participants and programme.

At J-Club De Panne, we believe every young person deserves to participate fully in camps, school trips and group holidays by the sea.

To support youth groups that include participants with additional care needs, J-Club De Panne provides a dedicated care and assistance room designed to facilitate daily personal care in a comfortable and practical environment.

The room includes:

• A care table for personal assistance and treatment
• A comfortable reclining chair for rest and relaxation

This dedicated space offers carers, supervisors and support staff the facilities they need to provide personal care in a safe, dignified and comfortable setting.
The care room is professionally cleaned and maintained every day by our housekeeping team, ensuring a hygienic environment throughout your stay.

Younger participants can play safely in our sandy outdoor play area, which is complemented by an accessible sun terrace where supervisors and participants can relax and enjoy the coastal surroundings.

Beyond our accommodation, groups can easily explore the natural beauty of the Belgian coast. The Oosthoek Dunes and Calmeynbos Nature Reserve are directly accessible via a dedicated pathway near the nature education centre De Duinpanne, offering opportunities for outdoor learning, nature discovery and accessible recreation.

For groups travelling by public transport, accessible tram and bus stops are located approximately 500 metres from the accommodation. The coastal tram and regional bus network operated by De Lijn provide convenient and accessible connections throughout the Belgian coast.

During the summer months, young people with reduced mobility can enjoy the beach thanks to a range of adapted facilities and support services available in De Panne.

• Reserved parking spaces throughout the town centre

Beach assistance services

Additional assistance is available for visitors who require support when using a beach wheelchair or accessing the beach.

From 11 June to 18 September, trained assistants are available daily from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm.

The assistance team can:

• Help participants transfer into a beach wheelchair
• Assist with access to the beach
• Arrange beach wheelchair reservations
• Provide practical support during beach visits

The information below provides an overview of the accessibility features available throughout our accommodation and facilities for youth groups, schools and organisations travelling with participants who have reduced mobility.

Access route, entrance and reception

The access path to the building has a slight slope but remains easily accessible from the entrance. There is sufficient circulation space for wheelchair users and other mobility aids.

Terrace

The outdoor terrace offers ample circulation space and can be accessed easily from various parts of the building.

Internal circulation and level differences

Most key facilities are located on the ground floor or can be reached comfortably via a spacious lift.

Throughout the building, corridors and passageways are designed to provide adequate space for wheelchair users and participants with reduced mobility.

Dining room and multi-purpose rooms

Our dining facilities and multi-purpose activity rooms are accessible to guests with mobility impairments.

Features include:

• Sufficient circulation space
• Tables that can be raised when additional clearance is required

These spaces are regularly used by schools, youth organisations and inclusive group programmes.

Accessible communal toilets

J-Club De Panne provides adapted communal toilet facilities for guests with reduced mobility.

The accessible toilets include:

• Adequate transfer space beside the toilet
• Support rails for additional assistance
• Adapted facilities in both male and female sanitary areas

As with many existing buildings, certain turning areas may be more limited, which is why we encourage organisers to contact us in advance so we can help determine the most suitable accommodation and facilities for their group.

Accessible bedrooms and bathrooms

Our accommodation includes 10 adapted bedrooms, each equipped with two accessible beds, specifically designed for youth groups that include wheelchair users or participants with mobility impairments.
